Wisconsin Ag in the Classroom offers an annual essay contest for fourth and fifth grade students. Each year the topic has specific lesson plans, activities and other resources that teachers and home school parents can use to teach about Wisconsin agriculture. The 2012-13 topic is “Wisconsin farms help me eat a healthy lunch by…”
The 2011-12 Essay Contest winner was Daniella from Independence. The topic was “Why crops and plants are important to Wisconsin agriculture.” A total of 1,831 Wisconsin students wrote essays for the competition sponsored by the Wisconsin Farm Bureau Foundation, Wisconsin Milk Marketing Board, Frontier FS and We Energies. 2012-13 Essay Contest RESULTS
